FOE SLY-GROG SELLING, OFFENCE AT TAUMA'RUNUIJ. TAUMARUNUI, June 15. On charges of selling liquor and keeping liquor for sale, Elsie Clara Howie was sentenced to imprisonment for one month by Mr R. M. Accused said she had never seen Constable Chaytor before seeing■' him in court, and she denied selling him liquor. “She is a persistent sly-grog 'seller,” said Sergeant Sivver. In sentencing accused to one month’s imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to be concurrent, the Magistrate said accused had persisted in carrying on the business and would not give it up.
