Bettington (N.SW.) beat Wagg (N.Z.) five up. Horn a brook (N.Z.) beat Thompson .(N.S.W.)’ five up. ■Blade (N.Z.) beat Witliycomb'e (N.S.W.) four up. Although selected to play, Brinsdeu asked to be dropped, so Black played -in his place.
