. SATURDAY’S GAMES. The Westland Sub-Union competitions will be continued to-morrow afternoon. The games set down for decision are : Seniors. —Rimu v. Ross, at Ross (E. M. Beot); Kiwi v. Rivals, Cass Square (D. Keenan) ; Excelsior a bye. Juniors.—Ross v. Kiwi, at Hokitika, at 3 p.m.; Excelsior v Kokatahi, at Kokatahi (J. Bannister); Rimu and ■School each have byes. The senior game for Oass Square its Kiwi v. Rivals, and this should pre.sent an even contest, while at Ross the home team should have a fair chance of assuming the lead in the competition. The junior game for Cass Square is Ross'v. Kiwi, while Excelsior travel to Kokatahi.

Another change was made in the-Ne* Zealand Rugby team,' who .are leaving for Australia to-morrow, R. Williams, of Hawke’s Bay, wing three-quarter, has been suffering from a knee injuiy as the result of his experience m the match yesterday. He entertained some doubt- as to whether he would be sound enough for the tour. A medical examination was made to-day, and as thereport was not favourable, Williams has dropped out of the team It was announced this afternoon that J. R. Page of Wellington, has been chosen to fill the vacancy. ■

The opinion that Hi was asking too much of the New Zealand Rugby team to play a match two days be or© the Test match with Australia, was expressed at the meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union’s Management Committee, when a request received' from Australia that the touring tea-u s itinerary he further amended to permit of a match at Ipswich.il -HI ' ; ' : After some discussion, it was decided 1 to reply pointing out that in view of the Test on the Saturday, the New Zealand Union’s Management Committee desired the match at to be played on Tuesday, 12th July, or the following day. The manager of the team, Mr Wallace, however, was given authority to take any further action in regard to the request if he deemed it advisable and without unduly affecting the team.
