MONEY CARRIED IN STREETS. INSURANCE BEING TAKEN OUT. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Juno 15. Local bodies and firms having large sums of money to transport through the ! streets of the City can insure against the risk of robbery in transit. Insurance companies have for many years had provision for cover of this, nature, though not many such policies have been taken out. •Thek’f dvK that exist in Christchurch are mainly for sums which it has.been necessary to. qarry from the'*'batiks to-offices .or factories for the payment; of iqfagest Tine cover is effective, "in -the erne of one policy for the carrying of money drawn for wageis, from the time of handing over at the bank to the payment tO' employees. Tine extent of the risk is increased in aspect of one firm by the fact that the cover is made to extend not only to the wages handed over in the City, hut to sums transmitted to branches all over Canterbury. Another policy concerns moneys collected by a local body officer, and the cover —against highway robbery—a* effective until they are paid over by him to his office.
