An intensive air search by Pilot Sutcliffe of the Western Australian-Air-way® to-day, resumed in the discovery of Bertram’s seaplane practically undamaged at a tiny island eighty pules west of Wymlham, and one hundred miles from Drysdale Alission.... Native runners from the 'AJinsion assert, ..that Bertram ■and a companion or .companions were apparently murdered; by hostile tribesmen and their,;-,effects stolen and distributed, which will account for the discovery of the cigarette case and handkerchief. The r.unners 6ay it is impossible to live among the tribes at either Eric or Ellis Islands, which are close together. The seaplane was located on,i i: ,Eric Island. One wing was propped up. Apparently the. crew came ashore and iiiet the fate which the natives say is inevitable; However, the Sparch is continuing.
