N.Z. PRICES AT HOME. Butter. —The butter market remained slow and uninteresting throughout the montli of May, quotations for Nr.. Zealand showing slight fluctuation'-’, Ob'down- to 94s with a recovery at the end of the month up to as high as 98s to 100 s. -Unfortunately, however, the advance was not maintained and our latest cables show that t-he market b r quietened with quotations down to 96s once more.

•Messrs W. Weddel and Co. cable that in view of the- fact that New Zealand and Australian grading,s continue to be above norma], buyers are showing i-c anxiety with regard to future suppries. Canadian cheese is being offered freoiy at 5 . c.i.f.e., and our principals advise t!r 1 they expect no material improvement in the meantime.
