i,By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 14. Tii© last of the round of farewells tendered the New Zealand representatives at th© Olympic G-ames took place when they were given an enthusiastic send off, prior to embarking on the Monowai -tlnis afternoon. A civic farewell was extended at the town hall by the Mayor. The,Hon. R. Masters, who apologised for the absence of the Prime Minister, represented the Government, and in the course of his speech, mentioned that, for t-he first time, New Zealand would have an official! in Air Leslie, who was going a-s a starter, and ho included Mr Leslie in the congratulation. Air Masters mentioned that, besides the Olympic team being sent abroad, New Zealand had a golf team in Australia at the present time, -and it would be followed by Rugby and hockey teams, making about 80 New Zealanders on tour.

There had been no complaint about the cost, said Air Masters, but a team was going to Ottawa and' there ihad been protests because it was proposed to send three in it (laughter). Hg hoped that the- Ottawa team would be as successful! as it was hoped the Olympic team would be. In the course of his reply, Mr Bundle, the manager, remarked that other countries always looked to British teams to set the standard of sportsmanship, and he could safely -say that the New Zel and team would not be found wanting. The chairman of the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association received a letter from the Governor-General, Lord Bledigloe, wishing the team a pleasant voyage, and the best of luck, and intimating that -he would take a great personal interest in the reports in connection, with the games.
