By the narrow margin of 24 votes, to 21. the Conference of the Hospital Boards rejected a proposal to establish State Lotteries, the proceeds of which would go towards the upkeep of the hospitals. , The proposals were embodied, in various forms, in several remits, and these were subjected to a lengthy discussion.
