HUGE INCREASE
IN DUTY*ON’ BRITISH BEER. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 9. By 301 votes to 71, the House of Commons last night, oil the, report stage of tho Finance Bil, rejected an amendment for the reduction of the beer duty, which, it was represented, k now fifteen times as high as it was in 1014. The Chancellor of the Exchequer (mv Chamberlain) pointed out that revenue of ten million pounds would be involved in the proposed reduction.
