GELIGNITE STOLEN

THEFT FROM RELIEF WORKS.

MAGAZINE BROKEN INTO

WELLINGTON, June 8

Plugs of gelignite were stolen from a shed on the Hataitai relief job during the week-end. The discovery wa9 made by a constable who visited the locality on .Sunday, and saw that the doors of four of the sheds at the north end of the reclamation had been broken open.

The gelignite, it is stated, was not. stored.in either of these sheds, hut inf a, separate magazine. It is apparent that the thieves were intent on getting the-explosive alone, because nothing at all was taken from the main, buildings, in which Irelief workers’ tool and other plant were stored.
