VALUES GENERALLY LOWER

CHRISTCHURCH, June 8

Values wer e mostly lower at to-day’s live stock saile at Addington where there was a small yarding of store ■sheep, mostly lambs, and chiefly tailend consignments. The market was a dragging one. Good competition was forthcoming only on attractive lots. There was a light offering of fat lambs, with many pens of unfinished lots, and also a few pens of prime consignments. Competition was keen for tlie best butchers’ lambs.

There was another heavy yarding of fat sheep. Ther e was a decided easing of vnines from the commencement. Many very prime consignments were on offer from Otago and Blenheim. The lighter sorts wer e claimed chiefly by the export buyers at schedule rates. There was another full yarding of beef. The sale wa>s dull, no keen lies - being shown by buyers, even at the lower values ruling to-day. There was particularly dragging competition.
