ENTRIES FOR SEVEN-A-SIDE
The Westland Rugby Sub-Union met last evening, when there Avere present-: Messrs J. C'. Stafford (president), D. R. Dowell, R. McDonald, J. L. Menzjes, A. Cut-bush, F. Freitas, R. A. Bell, J. A. Cooper, W. Stopforth, J. McCleary and E. W. Heenaii (secretary) . Tne following officials in connection Avitii the seven-a-si-cle tournament next Friday Avere appointed: Fixture committee, Messrs Menzies, McDonald, Bed, Stafford and Heenan, timekeepers, Messrs A. W. Yam-all and F. McGregor; referees’, ‘ appointment' board, Messrs, Stafford Doavcll, and. W. H. Reeve,s;’blackboard, Mr A. H. Lawn; call stewards, Mosers W. Stopforth, J. Cooper, J. McCleary; weighing' steAvar-d, Mr Van-all; gate stewa.d, Mr W. E. Gaylor. It Ava-s decided that the gatekeepers be, paid 8s for the day. Mr W- E. Gaylor Avrote offering a shield for competition among the lower grades, his offer being accepted with thanks.
AH competitions fixtures set doAvn for June 4th. Avere postponed on the motion of the chairman. A suggestion, emanating from the Referees’ Association, to the effect that the rule concerning the, studs on players’ boots be rigidly enforced, Avas adopted. Nominations for the tournament were received as follow:—Seniors—Rivals, .Rimu A. and 8., Ross A. and 8., Excelsior A. and 8., Kiwi A. and Bi'4-Nine teams. Juniors—School A. and 8., Kokatahi A. and B. } Rimu A. and 8., Excelsior A. and 8., Ross A. and 8., Kiwi A. and 8., A rahura.—Thirteen teams. Third grade—School, St. Mary’s, Ross, - 'KiAvi, Arahura. —Five teams. Shrimps—School A., 8., C., D. and E., Ki AA*i, Rimu, Ross, Kokatahi. — Nine teams. Bantams —School A., 8., C., D. and E., Convent A. and 8., Rimu. Ross, Kokatahi. —Ten teams.
