For several months residents of Uel-‘-ingt’ors have been living in it state of terror.
Day after day the names of missing persons have been reported and after* a little while their bodies have bean discovered horribly mutilated. >‘c\ The victims have in several cases been Communists whore political activities brought them before the public eye. Remains of bodies have been found in various places. The total number of murders discovered is now more than forty, it is reported. In a lonely forest a few miles from the city is a well which liiclc one of the most gruesome discoveries
. A peasant, who had gone there for a drink of water, was horrified to see a human arm showing above th e surface.
Tin? police found that the arm had not ilong been severed from its body, end on the well being drained more than a. dozen other arms and iegs and several human heads were revealed. A mortuary keeper at one of the churchyards has been arrested, but he refuses to assist the pel’ice.
