DISTORTION GONE

TOLL TELEPHONE PERFECTION

Jolted Press Association— By Electric leJegrapn. —(Jopyrign i

LONDON, May 27

The Post Ornce has devised an undistorted telephone, making long-dis-tance speech as audible as local calls. The device is known as zero speech and completely removes distortion from the voice. It will be applied to all trunk lines. Two factors led to its success: (1) amplifying the current every 40 or 50. miles, by a repeater, and (2) a new device, which is attached to every repeater. It will also improve relayed wireless, broadcasts.
