WELLINGTON, May 30. A repeal of the-War Regulations was asked by a deputation from the Trades and Labour Council, .which waited on the'—Prime Minister, to-day. The proceeding’s were conducted in private. It. was subsequently learnt lroin the deputation that, specific mention was .made of the regulation empowering the Governor General to declare any industry essential for the public welfare, and making persons who have taken part in a strike liable to imprisonment. The deputation also asked that persons receiving high superannuation should not he appointed to Commissions or hoards of inquiry.

Mr Forbes'promised to give consideration to the representations.
