PROSPECTING WORK
The local syndicate that has had men working for the last three months prospecting the old Croesus property in the Paparoas has now cleaned up the drive and unwatered the winze. Messrs M’Gregor and M’Luskie journeyed, to the mine to see the final works carried out, and their report was very satisfactory. They brought with them some nice specimens out of the winze portion of the mine, gold showing freely in all the pieces of quartz. They are now awaiting the visit of the gold mines inspector, and his report will most likely decide whether further driving will take place on the reef.
