PHAR LAP’S HEART. According to Dr. Stewart Mackay, tho heart of Phar La'p when the examination has been completed, will probably be found to equal in weight tho heart of the great English racehorse Eclipse, which had the record weight for a thoroughbred of LIU). Dr. Mackay, who was asked bv Phar Lap’s part owner, H. R. Telford, to take possession of tins heart, said that the heart with some of the blood vessels ■attached, weighed Lb} IT)., so that the approximate weight would be Ltlb. Dr. Mackay added, however, that Eclipse died at the age of 25 years, having begun racing at the age of five years, at which age Phar Lap died. A horse’s heart develops with age.
