BRIDEGROOM CAUSES SURPRISE

GISBORNE, May 28.
.Although the banns had been read and lull arrangements made, a native wedding did not eventuate. The day before, the groom disappeared and his relatives searched and brought him back, hut at the service, the bridegroom got up and said ‘“I am not going to marry,” ami left. Guests, numbering four hundred, were present and it was decided to carry on the feast for which elaborate preparations had been made.
