ROME, May 27

The Congress of Ocean Flyers here decided that the time had arrived for an international competition to hasten trans-Atlantic conveyance of goods and special mai s, but. not yet the conveyance of passengers. It was agreed that Rome should be the international centre for the collection and distribution of data.

The ’opinion was expressed that a route via Ireland and Newfoundland and that via the Azores and Newfoundland would be impracticable at present, and that the most promising route between Europe and North America * was via Iceland and Greenland, provided that complete weather report services were organised.

A Western Australian Airways aeroplane, with three skilled aviators aboard, has conducted a search of the coast from Wvndham to Darwin for the missing Junkers flying boat with two men aboard.
