Th© tragic death of a father upon hearing the news of the death- of his sou occurred at Rotorua recently. Mr William Richardson, baker and confectioner, of Arawa Street, received advice at 9 p.m. that his son, Mr Alfred James Richardson, aged 32, had died in the hospitail at Taihape. Mr Richardson, who for some time had suffered ill-health, thereupon collapsed and died. As a young man Mr Richardson came to New Zealand from England. For a time he lived afc Devonport, Auckland, and then at Gisborne. He came to Rotorua 22 years ago. He is survived by Mrs; Richardson, three sons and two daughters. Taxpayers in New Zealand who complain of the taxation burden may take comfort from the fact that in one country, at least, things are infinitely wo use. In the Yugoslav Parliament, one of the most loyal and dependable' [ representatives made a statement that, revealed an almost incredible state of affairs in «- little district in Macedonia.. It contains nine small towns and villages, inhabited by 17,000 persons, who were obliged to pay, in 1931, a sum of 3,030,080 dinars for local and Government taxation, which left only 44,671 dinars for the use of the inhabitants. That meant that each of the 17,000 inhabitant.? had three dinars, each or something of the value of our threepence, on which to live for a whole, year. Tn other words, these' people were obliged to pay in taxation about 99 iter cent, of their total income. Winter is here with its attendant coughs, c-olds aid other lung complaints. Pc pre] 'red to nip such ail--incuts in the bud. Keep a large 2s 6d! bottle of “Nazol” handy—contains 120' doses. Small size Is 6d contains 60» doses.—Advt.
