TOKIO, 'May 26

The postal strike here, which has crippled the service since Sunday, ended this afternoon. The' negotiations proved satisfactory to the workers. They are resuming to-morrow.

JAPANESE GENERAL DIES

SHANGHAI, Afay 26

The death occurred of General Shirakawa (Commander of the Japanese Army at Shanghai) at noon to-day, following on an unsuccessful attempt at blood transfusion, and a delicate operation. Doctors were specially' sent for from Tokio to try and save his life.
