To-night, the Duke of Connaught will be in flhe chair for the Royal Empire Society’s dinner. The outstanding event of the day’s celebrations in oLndon was the unveiling this morning by the Duke of Connaught of a stained glass window in St. Paul’s Cathedral in memory of Lord Meath, founder of th e Empire Day movement. Empire Day was celebrated throughout Britain by school pageants, tableaux. and ' patriotic* gatherings, wherelat numerous references were made to the Ottawa Conference. Countess Jeilicoe deputised for her husband, whose . h'ertl'th did'not permit (him to do so., and she', broadcast a message emphasising the; necessity of purchasing Empire products. __
