A message from Long Beach, California, says that Ted Phelps, the sculler, of Putney, England, will defend the world’s singles sculls championship against Major Goodsoll, ol Beverly Hilts, California, the former title holder, over the Olympic Gann" course at Long Beach on September 5. Phelps terms of acceptance were received to-day.
