WELLINGTON, May 25.

Mr W. J. Wallace, the 1905 All has been appointed Manager of the New Zealand Rugby Team to tour Australia this season. The appointment was made at the meeting; of the N.Z. Rugby Union this evening. The question of the team playing a match against Wellington on the eve of its departure was discussed. The Chairman said that Mr Wallace, the manager, and himself, would be in Christchurch when the Inter-Isand match was played bn June 3, and ant opportunity would he taken to ascertain if the players would be available to play a game against Welington or Juno loth.

The Management Committee last week appointed Mr S R- Murray to accompany the team as “baggage” man. Mr Murray, who is one of the Roneko Club’s most active supporters,, 1 10,3 been associated with numerous representative teams as masseur.

HALF-TIME DECISION !

WELLINGTON, May 26

‘ Once again the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union has made plain its attitude with regard to players leaving the field at half-time. The question was raised at a committee meeting, •last night, u >on receipt, of a letter from the Wdlmgton Union that there was still some doubt on the point. The chairman moved that a reply be sent nointing out that the New Zealand Union had given a decision which must be carried out; viz., that no player shall leave the field at half-time' without the permission of the referee.
