-GUNMEN SEEK REVENGE. CHICAGO, May 22. Five Chicago gangsters went boldly hunting for tiie police with machinev guns. Two officers, with revolvers, hau v interrupted a hold-up, hut the gunmen s motor-car outdistanced the police. Smarting for revenge, the bandits returned shortly with a machine-gun.. 'Detectives' in the meantime had started their breakfast at the Roxy Hotel, hut .were compelled to drop to the floor while the gangsters sprayed the police car and the front of the restaurant with successive volleys, as they drove backwards and forwards in front of the hotel.
