At Moor town, in the first round, the results included the following: Cotton heat Green 4 and 3; Seymour beat Havers one up ; Burton beat Denny at the twentieth ; Rhodes beat Duncan one up ; Jacobs beat Twine at the nineteenth; R. Whitcombe heat Padgham 2 and 1; Woi’.iscroft beat Compston at the twentieth.
Second round: Barber beat Cotton 5 i-.itul '4, Seymour beat Burton two up ; Rhodes beat Allis 3 and 2; R. Whitcombe beat Wolliscroft at the nineteenth; Easterbrook beat Saynei 3 and 0 ; Hodgson beat Buckle 6 and 4.
Rhodes was Duncan’s ex-a-ss'stant, and beat his old master.
Barber is the midland champion. He played golf that Bobby Jones could hardly have withstood. He went out in thirty two and took oii'y one putt nil each of nine' greens. - Jacobs, a youngster, has made a name by beating Twine.
QUEENSLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
BRISBANE, May 20
Charles Brown, professional, won open golf championship of Queensland, with an aggregate of 286, T Howard (Sydney) took 287, J. Cohen (Queensland) 290, H. Yon Nida (Queensland) 292. Nida is only a lad just graduated from the caddy ranks.
