(United Press Association—By Electric: Telegraph.—Copyright.)
LONDON, 'May 20,
The “News Chronicle,” claiming to reveal exclusively the truth of the match negotiations of the Cricket Club with the Australian
Board of Control, regarding tiie New Zealand tour, declares that the Australian Board strongly objected to the extension of the Marylebone team’s tour to New Zealand, the Board considering that New Zealand should make its own arrangements. The “News Chronicle” adds: New Zealand sent a representative to Australia, where lie was most rudely received, the Australian Board , giving him only a few minutes to .state his case, avid informing him that a decision had already been made, and that ifche representative, could read their statement in the newspapers. • Meanwhile the English Counties decided that the Marylebone Club’s original request should not be. altered, the Australian* Board being politely' told that if they could not,, agree, there Plight be some question of cancelling the tour, Subsequently (t?aya the, paper) the Board of Control -saw its mistake. The fact that tho Marylebone Club will be able to fulfil it programme both in Australia and New Zealand is regarded as a triumph of tact and diplomacy.
