RELIEF STRIKE
SHOULD BE CALLED OFF

WELLINGTON, May 19
It is definitely understood that 50 per cent, of the relief workers are working, and it is considered in the interests of those who are out, that the strike should be called off, as !t is realised that the men who are. standing out are being penalised unfairly l.v the number that have returned to •voric. An official statement, from Mr Fra-er, chairman of the Strike Committee, is that Mr Coates received a deputation, and the pros and cons of bringing about a satisfactory settlement were gone into. Mr Coates was thanked for the way in which lie had received the deputation. x
