Mr Willis lias cabled a reply to Mr Stevens. He declined to disclose the contents. In a press statement Mr Willis said he regarded Mr Stevens’ cable as merely a notification of the Ministry
policy, whereon he was not prepared to comment. “Mr Lang’s instructions to me have never gone beyond a request for time to pay. T never understood it as a policy of repudiation.”

The terms of the unity pact between the United Australia.’ Party and the United Cou,ntry Piarty disclose that the Country Party agreed to withdraw all of its official candidates from the country scats at present- held by the United Australia Party members, thus ending the dispute of long standing.
In a statement, Mr Hnixner said’ “The Country Party is doing its duly to the State. It requires some sacrifice by our supporters, but I ask them to help not only me, but the people of New South Wales and Australia."
