HARBOURING AN ESCAPE 1

AUCKLAND, May 18
■Ji charge of knowingly harbouring a prisoner, Frederick William Sch-utei, who escaped from Mt, Eden prison on April 30th, aild’Hs slip -aTMfirge, was brought against a fruiterer named Alexander 'Mason, 35, in the police court.
, The- prosecution said Mason had been employing Schlut-er’s wife as housekeeper and -Sellluter went to Mason’s house after his escape, and .-.staved there till May 15th, when there was a row and Mason told him to go. '
Mason was a decent man, and had never been in trouble before, counsel said. Mason now realised what he had done and. regretted H very much, but h ; s heart had run away with his head. Magistrate 'Hunt imposed a fine of £lO or two months’.
