(By Telegraph—PerPress Association)
WELLINGTON, May 16,
Mr S. W. Pascall, World President of the Rotary Movement, was tendered a civic reception at the Town Hall to-day. Mr Pascall and party ■ later visited the Botanical Gardens, where a number of Purivi trees, commonly known as “N.Z. Oak,’’ were planted.
'Speaking at the reception, Mr Pascall said'that he had arrived in New Zealand when the times were difficult, and ihe tragedy of it was that the solution of the difficulties did no-t wholly depend upon the people. He /toped, however, that the people of th o Dominion would fight througll their difficulties, even as the old pioneers had done. There could be no doubt that there was a great future .awaiting Now Zealand. He wished New Zealand great solidarity of all classes, that they might work together for the common good.
