The declaration of the poll in respect to the Southern Riding election on Wednesday last, appears in this issue. It will be seen Mr Jeffries improved his position considerably. This was due to the vote at Tetaho which had been mutilated in transmission on the night of the poll. Mr Jeffries polled 11 votes at that booth, instead of nil as first published.

At Everybody’® Pictures last evening a splendid programme was. shown. To augment the funds of the Hokitiki Operatic Society which is shortly to produce “Memo England,” a dance will he be conducted in the Soldiers Hall by the Society to-morrow evening. The primary object of the Society is one that will meet with the approval of the townspeople as a whole, and its efforts ore deserving of support, It is to ■ft hoped thi're%.'e, tlmt the patronage will be greater even than that anticipated. Attention is being paid to those features which make for the success of an evening, and an enjoyable time can be assured to-inonrow night.
