■WANGANUI, May 13
John Thomas Connell, a single man, aged l 19, wa® knocked down and kill-
ed on the Main North Road to-night by a motor car driven by E. W. Francis, of Palmerston North, Connell who was employed by a Wastmere farmer, was walking into Wanganui
when the accident occurred. An in quest will be held in the morning.
FLOODS AT KAIKOURA

Floods caused damage in the Kaikoura township yesterday, hut the position was almost normal to-day, and service ears were able to get through on the coastal road
