LEAGUE CODE BANNED
AUCKLAND, May 12
Mr Ivan Culpan, secretary oft he Auckland Rugby League, .stales that Station IZQ, which has signed up a contract with the League to broadcast League football matches from Carlaw Park, has been advised by a Post and Telegraph official that broadcasting League games had been banned. Mr Culpan said he saw no reason why ißugby 'should have the exclusive right on the air. The Auckland Rugby League takes strong exception to this attempt to prevent the broadcasting <>l matches at Carlaw Park. Mr Rhodes, the League Chairman, stated an official intimation had been received twin the Broadens'ing Board. It .seemed a deplorable state of affairs that arrangements already made should be subjected to interference by the Department. D r W. H. Pettit, president of IZQ, has protested to the Minister.
