LYONS, May 1
In the belief that it was impossible that- there were more* survivors, artillery fired shells to demolish ’he (kingero-js. tottering walls in the landslide area. They were surprised later by a cat’s frantic scratching, and dug round the -pot, and found the cat’s owner, an eight-year-old girl, unconscious beneath a bed where she had been impri-em-d for three days. She died on the way to the hospital.
