Tlie Lancashire League cricket performances included Merritt 6 for 94,Richardson 6 for 22 (he also scored 57), and Fair.ax 4 for 46. He was stumped after scoring six. The “Sunday Chronicle” comments: Fairfax’s first complete test is an unpleasant experience for the team (Accrington).

Marylebone, first 8 for 158 declared (Hendren 77); Surrey, first 2 for 149 (Hobbs To); drawn. Lancashire, ‘first 238. Worcester, first 70 (Sibbks 6 for 24); followed oil 166 (Sibbles 5 for 68). Lancashire won by an innings and two runs. Cambridge, first 153 (B'lunden 4 for 31) ; second 95 (Freeman 5 for 34). Kent, first 259 (Chapman 61 ; Ames 185). Kent won by ‘an innings and eleven runs. Yorkshire, first' 6 for 229 declared .(Holmes 110); second 197 (Barlow 6 for 44). Oxford, first 145; second 119 (Smailes 5 for 36). Yorkshire won by 162 runs.
