The Election Court judgment, deliv--0!(i,l this morning, certified that Alex,indo.;* Stewart, the silting member for Rangitikei, had boon elected by a valid majoriy oi seven votes, and it was luld that the solo charge made liv the petitioner, James Thorna-s Hogan, of corrupt practice, was without bumd'tion, and that the trial left the euaineter of respondent unstained. Wit!) regard to the twenty-four voting papers on which crosses only were shown, the Court rejected all. except where there was additional indication. showing clearly the voter's intention. Charges ol jnterreionce by young men and women, said to have been respondent’s agents at Marten and Afarton Junction, were not- sustained. With regard to the alleged i'logal payments by respondent, or his agents, the Court held* that payments cmu-ld not- lie imputed to respondent as illegal.
