MEN AND WOMEN BEFORE COURT

THREE SENT TO GAOL.

PALMERSTON N., April 28

As the) sequel to a police visit to a house in Broadway Avenue last Sunday several accused appeared in the Police Court 'before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., yesterday and this morning. ' Pleading guilty to charges of being idle and disorderly persons with insufficient visible means of support, Frances Ann Robinson, aged 56, and Kathleen Robinson, aged 19, d'omestics. were sentenced to one month and two months’ imprisonment respectively.' Harry Johnson, who admitted a 'similar charge, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment.

Ade Parish, domestic, aged 39, was charged with the theft of an overcoat valued at £3 and with being an idle and disorderly person. Accused was convicted on each charge and ordered to come up for sentence within 12 months if called upon. Similar treatment was given to. Phillip Bayliss, farmer ,of Kauwhata, who admitted receiving an overcoat and a rug valued at £8 from Ada. Parish knowing the, articles to have been dishonestly obtained.

Frances Ann Robinson admitted the thef: of a rug valued at £5 and was convicted and sentenced to a month's imprisonment, the term to be concurrent ..with her sentence in the idle and disorderly charge.
