SCOTT ARRIVES
RECORD BROKEN

DARWIN, April 28
Scott had a jwrfect landing, and an enthusiastic reception, lie wore plus fours, tan snows, a khaki shirt- auu a 1 in:.met. Ho said he- had a tough jour--1 my, mostly with head winds. The j'limor -Sea crossing was a regular niglit- ■ mare. He used all Jiis whisky in trying to steady his nerves. He circled over a small schooner early in the morning. The- folk aboard waved violently, He, discovered Darwin after a lot ot trouble. Scott added that he would never tackle a record flight again. It was too much of a. strain to the nervous system. He paid a tribute to Richards as being very plucky in embarking on his hazardous Australian flight with only two months’ flying experience.
Scott will remain at Darwin until Saturday. His bril.iant flight provided one of the most thrilling finishes of the London to Darwin flights, lowering Alollkon’a and Butler’s, records,
Scott heat MolJison’s record by om*y twenty-six minutes, Butler’s time was nine days one hour forty-three minutes, and Scott’s time, eight days twenty hours thirty four minutes.
PREMIER’S CONGRATULATIONS SYDNEY, April 28.
The Prime Minister, Air Lyons, has telegraphed In’s congratulations to the aviator Scott “on the completion of his meritorious record-breaking flight,” Air Lyons, in his message, emphasised the, important influence which such flights would exercise when the time comes to conduct a regular air service between Australia and England.
PRAISE FRO At THE PRESS. LONDON, April 28. The newspapers pay a high compliment to Scott. “The Times’’ describes his feat as one of great endurance, and pays a tribute to his personal determination, courage, i\nd ■skill as a pilot, navigator and pioneer.

Airs Scott, when informed that uer husband had arrived at Darwin, saia: “It i-s marvellous. 1 have been waiting up all night for news. You have no idea how proud and pleased I am. I knew he would do it, although he has taken a little longer than he thought.”
