The House of Representatives completed the Committee stage of the National Expenditure Adjustment Bill. A number or additional amendments were introduced by Governor-General's message including one empowering the Minister of Finance to refund ten per cent, stamp duty in cases where the income of the holder of securities does not exceed £IOO sterling annually. Mr Poison moved an amendment with a view to enabling interest rrJ dilution to be applied a"y monies ad\vaneed by any Manic, whether on demand or on fixed loan. i.Mr Forbes said fixed loan-’ came nnd'“r the Mill as did all fixed charges.
