APPOINTMENT OF SELECTORS,

WELLINGTON, April 27
Messrs McKenzie (Wairarapa) and A. McDonald (Otago) have been appointed the selectors of the New Zealand Rugby team which is to tour Australia this year. For the inter-island match to be played at ‘Christchurch on June 3rd. Mr McKenzie ,w>ll- select the North Island team, tjpfd: Mr McDonei’d the ■South ''lsland teqnf. These appoinfjp’ents were made by the Managerp^fitdwrimittee of the ,Newt Zealand Rnj>by Union this evening, rMr S. Dean,* who presided, said that the Golden Bay-Motueka Union bad been advised of the decision of the Union to send a Maori team on a northern tour this year. The Union regretted that it was unable to send a team to the Seddon Shield Districts this season, but would consider doing so iiext year.
An application was received h’ »:n Rotorua (Sub-Union for permission to secede* from- the • Bay of Plenty Union and 'affiliate with the Waikato Union.
