AUCKLAND, April 27. Giving warning that ; in future, lit* would seriously consider sending drunken motorists to prison instead «k fining them, the Magistrate, Air Hunt, to-day fined Angelo Pliinix, aged fit, a, clerk. £SO in default, three months’, and cancelled his driving license for three years. Yesterday afternoon accused collided with a clergyman’s car, hit another vehicle, and drove on furiously. It was his third offence, as previously, he had keen fined £ls, while in September 1931, he was fined £SO and his license cancelled for: a year. It was stated that he was ‘unmarried, and otherwise of good character. He held a good position in a Government Department.
