Lewis IVilliani O Connor, of the murder of Findlay Douglas Buchanan at Tomahawk. ’ John Kenneth Begg, a gun- mitli. giving evidence, said that the gun 'produced) was quite safe, and not likely to go off acr'dentally. and it would not lie possible to discharge it without pressure on the trigger. He had made tests to see if it would g« off accidentally, hut could not discharge it. The cu.rtridge (produced) fitted the gun.
Cross examined, witness said that if the trigger caught in the button of a coat, it might go off. It was al-o possible when the hammers were* up f„ r it to go off if the trigger caught in the loose -traiids of a sweater.
Constable Parker gave cvideniie that when lie handled the gun. the right hammer was corked, and the lelt hammer down. The gnu was open at the brooch, and he later found an undischarged cartridge lying in the water. The ease is proceeding.
