GONDOLA CUT ADRIFT. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON. April 25. An act of sabotage lints frustrated the attempt of the directors of the Brussels University Museum to retrieve from the Gurgi Glacier, in the Tyrol, the spherical aluminium gondola in which Professor Piccard ascended to a record height la,sit May, isnys the Vienna correspondent of “The Times.” Dr Kipfer, who was superintending the removal, was obliged to anchor the gondola to the mountainside one night, for fear of avalanches. On his return next morning he found that ltie ropes had been cut and that the huge gondola lyul! vanished. It was eventually discerned jammed in a 600 ft. gorge, it is feared that it cannot be recovered.
