MR LANG’S PLAN CAUSING MUCH SPECULATION. (Australian Press Association ) SYDNEY, April 25. The New South Wales Legislative Assembly resumed this morning. With dramatic 'suddenness, an hour and a half later, .the Premier, Air Kang, moved ■-() adjourn till to-morrow, g.vjng no reason. This surprised everybody. The Opposition demanded to know the reason, but the c.'osure was applied, and the House rose. There is considerable speculation in regard to Air Lang's plans, with not a little anxiety.

Events in the fight being waged by tlie Commonwealth Government against New South AVales for the recovery of payment, on behalf of that State, oi overseas interest-, have advanced afurther stage, following the meeting of the Federal Cabinet, wlmn instructions were issued to the State taxation officer in New South Wales. Air McMahon, to hand over to the Commonwealth Treasurer all document relatmg to State and Federal income taxation. A special gazette notice is issued amending the regulations under the Financial Agreement Enforcement Act to provide that all documents relating to taxation shall lie handed over to the Commonwealth Treasurer on demand.
the Commonwealth has power under this regulation to forcibly enter the New South Wales State Offices ami seize whatever documents It may require.
