Sunny April skies canopied ■scenes of pageantry in England on St. George’s Day. A crowd of 90,000 chanted the National Anthem ns Their Majesties entered AVernbley Stadium to witness the Soccer Cup Final. Stratford-on-Avon was gay with flags and flowens to welcome the Prince of Wales, who opened the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre.
St. Paul’s Cathedral glittered with madiaeval ceremony and resounded with solemn music when the Duke of York, accompanied by the Duchess, saw bis banner affixed over bis .stall at the annual service of the Older of St. Michael and St. George. Z.x?bru"go\s heroic. nicinoriovs wero recalled at a service at St. Mary's. Dover, where the Mayor 'struck eight bells on the Zcebrugge bell presented bv the King.
There also was a service at «t. George’s, Canterbury, all muled by a detachment of the Buff.-' Regiment.
