MURDER CHARGE
TRIAL OF WHALLEY REMANDED TILL MAY 4th. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) TIMARU, April 26. Appearing on remand from Hokitika, where h© was arrested, William John Thomas Whalley, aged 33 years, appeared before Mr U. 11. Orr Walker, b.M., in the Police Court, and was 1 charged with the murder .of William Edward Wogan, at the Hermitage On November sth, 1931. . i,»: On the application of Senr. Sergt. Mathieson, accused was remanded till May 4th. RUGBY FOOTBALL • EXCELSIOR DEFEATS RIMT7. A return match between the Rimu and Excelsior Rugby football Clubs was played on Cass Square on Saturday afternoon, Excelsior turning the tables after their previous defeat, winning by 17 pointß to 0. The ground was heavy after recent heavy raitl, and the game contained little of interest. For the winners, Schroder (2), and Marilyn iscored tries, Hamilton converting two, while W. Kugbcts potted a goal, Grovvcott and Inglig each scored a try for Rimu, while Agnew kicked a penalty.
