GIRL SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES

Bnylisis, aged I!), of Hukerenui. died in the Kawakawa Hospital, succumbing to injuries she received when struck by the trailer of a heavytimber lorry at Towui on April 2. '.-he was injured while saving the life of a child. Mss Bay lies was walking down the load with two children, when suddenly one of them darted out in front of an oncoming lorry. The child was in great danger, and Miss Baylis dashed in front, of the lorry and pulled the child out of danger. She heivelf however, was knocked down and terribly injured. She was taken to the Kawalmwn Hospital, suffering from a fracture of the skull and a lacerated foot. Miss Bavliss was making good progress until Friday, when complications set iii. Tlio people of the district feel the death of Miss Baylis keenly. She was, very popular with all. She was n prominent member of the. Huia. Hockey Club.
