RUNAWAY HORSE
DRAGS GIG ALONG STREET

MAST'E'RTON, April IS'.
A runaway horse careering along the footpath 'in tlhe main .street of thi town dragging the wreckage of a gig, caused some excitement in leatherston to-day. The driver, 'Mr J. Leggett, w-as in a .shop when the animal, apparently frightened, suddenly bolted.
Crossing Clifford Square the animal collided with a seat, wrecking it- !!’ axle of the gig was broken and a wheel fell oft', and now thoroughly terrified the animal. With the damage' gig dragging beihind, it galloped f" some distance along the footpath until, after shedding harness and " " and narrowly missing plate-gla s windows, it was caught at the other • of the. town by a shopkeeper, -V S. Cook. By a strange coincidence the hr" harness dropped off opposite the laa. saddler’s and the remains of the - ■within a few feet of the wheelwright: Tihe lipase was badly cut about knees.
