WESTLAND COMPETITIONS

The preliminary arrangements for the Competitions opening at the. Princess Theatre on Thursday, May 5, are now well forward and the programme is now in the printer’s hands. There is a large array of entries of which the clnneing section is the larges". Dancing will occupy the Princess Theatre oil Friday, Saturday and -Monday, day time, while the All Saints’ Hall will be occupied for the musical and elocutionary .sections. The judges for the Competitions are: Elocution, Mr Burton Ginger (Wellington) ; Alusic, Mr F. A. Bulloch (Christchurch) and dancing. Airs Bartrim (Chris'ichurch). The dancing section will be \complei*ccT by Monday. 9th Alay, but the remaining sections wv’l extend to tile next day,' after the opening night, apart from the dancing in the Princess Theatre in the 'day 'time, on Friday, Saturday and Monday, all other sessions will t»e held in All Saints’ Hall. Miss Aileon Daly, A.T.'C.b. will be the official aecompaniste, On the opening night, there wilt be a w e ll varied programme, providing an unusually good entertainment. On the second night, the Choir’s Competition wifi open with the test, hymm and glee.. Two choirs will be competing. On Saturday, several senior items for Grey mouth visitors will be included in the programme.
